Youth Business Spain is a private foundation that promotes youth entrepreneurship. With the aim of supporting young people in the labour market and promoting self-employment, it has created a community of entities to which it provides the necessary tools. It also facilitates collaboration between entities and individuals committed to tackling inequality and youth unemployment. Youth Business Spain considers youth entrepreneurship fundamental to generate employment and reduce the unemployment rate, providing knowledge and resources to start a business.
In order for local partners committed to entrepreneurship and social inclusion to support young entrepreneurs, methodologies and programmes have been developed to strengthen their support services.
Counselling for young people is based on direct contact, training, mentoring and funding opportunities. The mentoring process starts with an interview to understand their needs and their business idea, recommending the best approach. Training courses are provided on soft skills, business design, digital transformation, green and social business.
A key part of the programme is the mentor, a professional or entrepreneur who voluntarily helps young entrepreneurs to start their business. Mentoring is aimed at startups, struggling businesses and those looking to expand.
Youth Business Spain also offers beneficial financing services, such as social microcredits of up to €5,000 on favourable terms for people with difficulties in accessing traditional banking. It also provides advice on how to apply for bank loans, uses crowdfunding with Ulule and offers training workshops on financial literacy to help manage business finances.
