National Business Centre, Slovak Business Agency

National Business Centre is a national project designed to bolster entrepreneurial growth. Its main aim is to establish a “one-stop-shop” concept providing a wide array of information and support services. Its main target groups involve the nascent and established entrepreneurs in various life cycle stages of their businesses, individuals interested in starting a business, or creative and innovative individuals who are considering commercialising their ideas or products.

This project offers a suite of programs tailored to different stages of business development. In particular, it comprises the acceleration program (aimed at accelerating the entrepreneurial potential of future entrepreneurs), internship program (aimed at supporting participation in events, internships or mentoring actions), incubation program (aimed at incubating new entrepreneurs), and scale-up program (assisting established businesses in expanding their operations). In addition, it offers the information service providing information on starting or running a business through its front office, as well as the maker space and prototyping lab / a creative point.

With its broad outreach and a prominent position in the entrepreneurship support structures, the National Business Centre plays an important role in supporting active and potential solo entrepreneurs. At the same time, however, it's important to note that this initiative is generic in nature and is not exclusively focused on or specifically tailored to solo entrepreneurs. Also, at the time of preparation of this case study, the project was waiting for a new round of funding.
